Lettre de recommandation d'Ira Seidenstein

General Letter of Reference for Caspar Schjelbred, M.A.
Caspar Schjelbred has been an associate since 2008. When we met he was the Artistic Director of the Paris based Improfessionals, an international level improvisation theatre company founded in 2001. In the first instance he hired me to teach a brief workshop in my method for the Improfessionals.
Since that time Caspar has participated in numerous workshops of mine in Paris, Australia, Sweden, and Italy. Together we have evolved the ISAAC collective in Paris. Caspar has organised the Paris workshops of which there had been 2 or 3 each year in which he also was a participant.
Through these years I have encouraged him to stretch further to get as much acting and creative experience as possible and to work with other directors, teachers, and methods. In the process he also devised his own method "Impro Supreme" which combines the work of Keith Johnstone, my own, and Caspar's use of those and his further developments.
In the last few years the ISAAC collective has proceeded to create eclectic stage shows in Paris and Italy, and Caspar acted in each of those. He is an adept and astute actor, clown, and mime. Additionally he excels in languages (fluent in four) and in philosophy.
Through our process while I have mentored him he has advised me and we have developed not only a deep friendship but also an ongoing engagement with a range of worldly topics with a focus on 'life and art'. I can highly recommend his teaching and his approach as a creative director and collaborator in the performing arts.
